The Flying Trunk
These Wooden Figures appears in Richardt Branderup's artistic interpretation of the figures seen in Tivoli's The Flying Trunk; a ride he designed in 1993 and which includes 32 scenes from Hans Christian Andersens's magical collection of fairy tales.

Tivoli and Hans Christian Andersen
When Tivoli was built in Copenhagen in 1843, fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen was one of the first guests. Andersen was so enchanted by all the exotic features of the amusment gardens that he was inspired to write the fairy tale The Nightingale during one of his many visits.
