Peacock – Large
In Denmark there is a proud tradition to decorate your home with wooden figures to create a great atmosphere. Each of the small figures from the Tivoli-collection Tale Figurines tell their own unique story from a world-famous fairy tale or from Danish culture.
The Peacock is one of the most iconic symbols in Tivoli Gardens’ history. Over the years, Tivoli has welcomed many different animals into the Gardens, from the popular carp in Tivoli Lake and Easter lambs during the spring season to dogs at Tivoli’s annual Dog Day.
The peacock, however, holds a particularly special place in Tivoli’s heritage. Since the opening of the Pantomime Theatre in 1874, it has been a defining symbol of the Gardens. The theatre’s famous Peacock Curtain, which opens and closes like the spread tail feathers of a peacock, has become one of Tivoli’s most recognizable landmarks.
Peacocks are not only an important part of Tivoli’s cultural heritage. For more than a decade, live peacocks have also roamed freely throughout the Gardens, adding to the magical atmosphere that makes a visit to Tivoli Gardens such a unique and memorable experience.
