Cookie Music Box - Carrousel

This cookie and music tin is designed in the shape of a carousel and is inspired by one of the two original operating attractions in Tivoli dating back to 1843. The carousel of that era was inspired by railway carriages and was powered by a horse walking beneath the carousel floor, hidden from view.

An orchestra would perform music next to the carousel, entertaining visitors as they enjoyed the ride. The music box plays “Columbine Polka Mazurka” by H.C. Lumbye, a beloved piece still performed throughout Tivoli Gardens by the Tivoli Youth Guard Band.
